ARIS-Strategy was handed over to the European Commission
The Aviation Research & Innovation Strategy (ARIS) was handed over to European Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism, Apostolos Tzitzikostas, during a high-level event at the Paris Air Show on june 16th, 2025. The message of ARIS: Europe must invest boldly in aviation research and innovation if it is to safeguard its sovereignty, competitiveness, and resilience.

National Workshop on Sustainable Aviation Fuels
The workshop within the AMF project on sustainable aviation fuels (IEA AMF Task 63: Sustainable Aviation Fuels) highlighted the topic of sustainable aviation fuels in Austria, increasing the visibility of stakeholders and discussing their positions. In particular, the current research needs and barriers regarding market introduction were surveyed.
Austrian Innovations at AIRPOWER2022
For the 10th time, the Province of Styria, Red Bull and the Austrian Armed Forces hosted Europe's largest airshow at Hinterstoisser Air Base in Zeltweg. The Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, the FFG and AustriaTech participated as exhibitors at the technology and business exhibition and provided advice on national and international funding as well as upcoming information events for research & innovation in aviation.

Eco-Mobility 2024: Call for Papers
Eco-Mobility is a two-day event focusing on current competencies and developments. Representatives from OEMs, suppliers, energy providers, R&D institutions, and public authorities will discuss strategies in sustainable mobility. The Poster Session offers young scientists the opportunity to present research on advanced propulsion systems and sustainable energy sources to a specialized audience. Clean Aviation Third Call for Proposals
Clean Aviation launches its Third Call for Proposals, inviting aviation innovators to advance decarbonization. With up to €380 million in EU funding and a total research effort of €950 million, the call focuses on integrating and demonstrating key technologies from the Strategic Research & Innovation Agenda (SRIA).
INAIR 2024 - 13th International Conference on Air Transport: Call for Papers
The conference will explore key topics such as airport and airline operations, safety, air traffic management, human performance, air transportation policy, UAS development and regulation, aerospace engineering, and communication navigation surveillance. The Call for Papers is open until August 16th, 2024.
EUR 7 million investment for European multimodality under rail and aviation synergy call
The call targets solutions that will improve door-to-door mobility for Europe’s citizens, and is expected to generate synergies between the air and rail innovation communities. With a total investment of EUR 7 million, the call is being co-funded within the framework of the EU’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme. The deadline for submitting proposals is February 7th, 2024.

Young scientists can also apply for the SESAR Young Scientist Award, recognizing excellence in ATM and aviation-related research.
