RTI Funding Portfolio

The aim is to promote national, transnational and international funding formats and the successful participation of Austrian stakeholders in these funding formats. Technological, organizational and social innovations are intended to strengthen competitiveness, promote environmental protection and at the same time meet the needs of users.

Take Off

Take Off is the "flagship program" for the promotion of research, technology and innovation in the field of aviation and the main implementation instrument of the measures from the RTI Strategy for Aviation 2040 + of the Austrian aviation sector.

The focus of the 2023 tender is on climate-friendly market segments, sustainable aviation fuels for aviation including hydrogen and environmentally friendly mobility and transportation alternatives.Cooperative R&D projects and exploratory projects are funded as part of the call. EUR 12 million is available for the current call.

General programme

The general programme is open to all fields of technology, company and project sizes (also over € 1 million). The project objective is a functioning product, procedure, process or service.

BRIDGE

BRIDGE promotes individual projects with a predominantly basic research focus, which already show a realistic exploitation potential, so that one or more companies are prepared to co-finance the project or to participate in the project.

COMET - Competence Centers for Excellent Technologies

COMET promotes the establishment of competence centers, the core of which is a high-level research program jointly defined by industry and science.

Research skills for the economy

Research skills for the economy supports companies (primarily SMEs) in the systematic development and upskilling of their existing research and innovation staff. Another priority is to promote the establishment of company-relevant research priorities at Austrian universities and universities of applied sciences.

Production of the future

Production of the future aims to promote cooperation between industry and science, the development of human resources and the establishment of research infrastructure. The focus is on manufacturing competitive products and increasing productivity to secure economic growth in Austria.

E!Mission.at - Energy Mission Austria

E!Mission.at - Energy Mission Austria contributes to the provision of safe, sustainable and affordable energy. Ambitious ideas and concepts with a long-term perspective are to be realized through technological research and development work and brought close to the market with the help of pilot and demonstration plants.

ICT of the future

ICT of the future promotes ambitious innovation and technology development in the field of information and communication technology in conjunction with fields of application and social issues.

KIRAS Security Research

KIRAS Security Research is the Austrian funding program for security research, which supports national research projects whose results contribute to increasing security - as a permanent guarantee of a high level of livelihood and development opportunities - for all members of society.

Mobility of the future

Mobility of the future supports research projects which, in the medium to long term, can be expected to make significant contributions to solving mobility-related social challenges and to stimulate existing markets or generate new markets through innovation.

COIN Cooperation & Innovation

COIN Cooperation & Innovation aims to stimulate and increase the research and innovation activities of companies, especially SMEs. The objectives include, in particular, triggering innovations that are new for the market or for the companies (COIN "networks").

aws - Austria Wirtschaftsservice

aws - Austria Wirtschaftsservice is the development bank of the federal government. By awarding low-interest loans, grants and guarantees, it supports companies in the implementation of their innovative projects, especially when the necessary funds cannot be adequately raised through other forms of financing.

Numerous funding programs in the field of science, research and development are offered at federal state level. The funding pilot provides an overview of Austrian research and business funding programs.

Clean Aviation Joint Undertaking is the European Union's leading research and innovation programme for transforming aviation towards a sustainable and climate neutral future. It aims to strengthen the European aviation sector in the face of international competition.

SESAR (Single European Sky ATM Research)

SESAR is aimed at the sustainable development of the air traffic system as part of the standardization of European airspace and sets goals such as tripling the capacity of the air traffic system, increasing safety by a factor of 10 and improving environmental compatibility by 10% per flight.
