Hybrid electric aircraft completes maiden flight
In October 2018, the multi-engine hybrid electric aircraft jointly developed by Diamond Aircraft and Siemens successfully completed its maiden flight. The hybrid propulsion allows a fully electric start. As a result, the aircraft consumes less fuel and noise pollution is considerably reduced. Development activities have created a pioneering role in electric propulsion systems for twin-engine small aircraft.
