Patent on freezing rain
The Icing Wind Tunnel for aircraft enables simulation of freezing rain according to EASA Certification Standards CS-25 / CS-29 Appendix O, which is mandatory for certification testing in the large aircraft industry and, most likely in the near future, also for UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles).
Through research and development, it was possible to develop a unique selling point here as well. The "Apparatus and method for the production of water droplets of a specific size in an apparatus for the artificial production of rain, snow or icing conditions" was patented in 2018.
Another major challenge is the production of artificial wet snow with flake sizes up to 6 mm. This is currently being actively researched and developed.
